Blue Bird - Twin System

Blue Bird Twin System is a dark-fantasy system-fantasy web novel told in first person by Len, a seventeen-year-old acrobat and joker from the peaceful mountain valley of Halden Reach. His grandfather, the tribe's Keeper, warns him and his twin brother Dan about the Twin Blue Bird System, the two halves of a torn Book of Power. One half, the Free System, liberates, and the other, the Saal System, enslaves. On the eve of Grandfather's birthday, the sky breaks, the sun turns blue, and a crimson-hooded killer destroys the valley, murders Grandfather, and takes both brothers. Len wakes in the wild land of Nahil, bought as a servant with an iron cuff and a debt that keeps growing. He joins Nate's raiding camp, where people hunt mutated beasts for cores and torn Leaf fragments that can strengthen a wielder's system, and where nobody has heard of the "Saal Age" Grandfather described. Len carries a stolen Leaf fragment, a secret system prompt only he can see, and a signal telling him Dan is alive somewhere far to the south.
