City Kid & the Dragon
Title: City Kid & The Dragon Before his death, Aren, an orphan modern-world boy who always lived alone and quietly read novels to escape reality, dies from a terminal illness. As darkness takes him, the last thing on his mind is the fantasy novel he was reading — “Empire of the Dawning Flame.” When he opens his eyes again, he finds himself reborn as the crown prince of the Solaris Empire, inside the very novel he read — and in a family who genuinely loves him: A mighty yet warm Emperor father A gentle, wise Empress mother Two cheerful, overprotective older sisters With a family he never had before, Aren decides that this time… he will live, grow stronger, and protect them. But he also remembers something terrifying from the novel: In a few years, the Empire will be attacked and destroyed by the Northern Dominion. Determined to change fate, Aren begins training early. He knows secret paths from the novel: Hidden manuals Forbidden medicines A sealed spirit well Ancient monster caves Techniques that only appear far later in the book Yet despite his rising strength, mockery follows him. Nobles call him weak, spoiled, “soft-hearted.” At parties, heirs of other families try to humiliate him, unaware he’ll someday surpass them all. Aren laughs it off… yet deep inside he feels a familiar emptiness. One day, he wanders into the outskirts of the empire to hunt monsters — partly for training, partly to clear his mind. In a mysterious cave, he unexpectedly runs into a beautiful girl his age, fierce-eyed and graceful. He rescues her from a collapsing tunnel, but she refuses to share her identity. She is actually Lyrianne, runaway Dragon Princess of the Draconic Peaks — but Aren doesn’t know that. And she doesn’t know he is a crown prince. She decides to join his journey, claiming she wants adventure. He thinks she’s alone and in danger. Together, they form a strange, chaotic, hilarious partnership — hunted by monsters, chased by thieves, learning about each other, laughing together… slowly falling in love. But their fun doesn’t last. Dragons eventually come to take Lyrianne home. She pleads with them not to hurt Aren and promises Aren she will return. Aren prepares to go after her — but disaster strikes first. The Northern Dominion invades earlier than expected. Forced to return to his Empire, Aren joins the battlefield. A terrifying enemy champion appears, nearly killing him through treachery. When all hope seems lost… Dragons descend from the sky. Lyrianne leads them. They save him, and the war ends in victory. Aren awakens days later, confused and overwhelmed, and asks Lyrianne how she convinced her father. She blushes and confesses: > “I told him I love you… and that I gave you my first night. Dragons mate for life — I can only love one person forever.” Their families agree, and the two marry. Aren eventually rises as the Emperor, with Lyrianne as his Dragon Queen. The story ends with them walking together at sunrise, finally living a life Aren always wished for — surrounded by love, strength, and a world he changed with his own hands.
