In 2099, the "Great Cleanse" made gaming a crime against humanity. Newlyweds Mark and Lilly Walker were the world's most disciplined couple—until they stepped out of their new home and into the Void. Their house vanished instantly, replaced by a sprawling multiplayer wasteland where unknown alien races battle for dominance using Mana and Machines. The Guardians Shuffle System has forced a different weapon into each of their hands: Lilly wields a deck of High-Tier Monster Summons, while Mark controls a deck of Lethal Mana-Traps. Surrounded by talkative non-human rivals who want their heads, they have one "Illegal" advantage: The Life-Link. As long as one spouse is alive, the other cannot die.
