Denied Identity
In the small, tradition-bound Igbo village of Ikpem, Imo State, Nigeria, a royal lineage is being strangled by greed. Kingsly Ohambah was born with a destiny—to be the heir of his grandfather, Eze Albath. But the circumstances of his birth to a single mother, Esther, gave his wicked uncle the weapon he needed. Alleging Kingsly is a "bastard child" and illegally abolishing the ancient Igba Nwa tradition, the uncle usurped the throne, banished Kingsly's family to poverty, and stripped them of every last piece of land. After years of exile in the city, Kingsly returns to Ikpem, a high school graduate who refuses to abandon his true name. When the ruthless new King, Edward, tries to demolish the last vestige of the Ohambah lineage—the dilapidated house of Kingsly's deceased grandmother—Kingsly arrives with police and a legal challenge. This is not just a fight for a throne; it is a desperate struggle for a name, a home, and the very soul of a family broken by corruption and spite. Kingsly's first defiant act is to answer the question that defines his life: "Who Are You?"
