This science fiction thriller follows two seemingly separate events that are revealed to be terrifyingly connected. On the advanced city-planet of Neo-Veridia, a brilliant xenobotanist, Dr. Aris Thorne, discovers that the alien plants sustaining his city are beginning to behave erratically, communicating with an unknown source. Simultaneously, on the remote mining planetoid Xylos-7, Commander Eva Rostova's team accidentally awakens a dormant, planet-sized biological entity.
