"The comets are running." Kaarik is a dark skinned, third prince, who just wants to be normal. He wants to be able to guard his mind against the threats that seem to be appearing in his life. He wants to help protect his family and the jungle kingdom, but he has no gifts. He wants to be considered a man and respected by his people. He wants his life to be different and only one thing can change it. He needs a mabefri. Moira is a fair skinned princess who wants to be free. She wants the right to choose who she marries. She wants to be able to spend her life with her her bond sisters but she knows her station. She wants her future to be different than queen of some kingdom she doesn't even care about. She needs a way out. Two teenagers wanting change. They are going to get it. As an evil approaches their world, a prophecies begins to take on active rolls in their lives. Granting each something they never thought they would have. The power to make real change. Unfortunately, there are powers on this world who have other ideas on what the future should look like. They will stop at nothing to unsure that the world is theirs. Permanently. As old gods give way to older deities. Will the kids see the hand being held out to them or will they push it aside? Will the new abilities they inherit make them gods? Are Kaarik and Moira enough to stop the impending doom or are they just Forerunners.
