Three thousand years ago, a man named Diego ventured into a forbidden forest where people were known to disappear. There, he witnessed a demon murdering two men. Despite his fear, Diego bravely approached the demon, who offered him a wish in exchange for a terrible price: Diego and all his descendants would have to worship the demon or be erased from existence. Desperate for wealth, Diego agreed. The demon granted Diego great riches, and the villagers soon crowned him king. Diego lived lavishly until he wasted all his wealth. When the villagers demanded more, he returned to the demon, offering a soul in exchange for another fortune. Again the demon made him wealthy. The villagers, initially angry enough to plot his death, changed their minds once the king paid them. But Diego soon announced that everyone must worship the demon as he did, claiming it would make their lives easier. Terrified of dying if they disobeyed, the villagers complied. The demon then demanded offerings, promising rewards to those who pleased him. Fear took over the kingdom. Some villagers sacrificed their blood, others even their children, and the land fell deeper under the demon’s dark influence.
