Maeve Dune is an orphan wolf who has experienced a lot of loss in her life, the latest of which is the sudden death of her beloved adoptive mother Siobhan. Wrecked and miserable, she has little time to grieve as she is forced into the selection by circumstances beyond her control. It's a most humiliating ceremony, in her opinion, one where the most formidable Alphas in the land selected a mate. The last thing she wants is to contest, but her adoptive stepfather Mike, insists on her participation as the first step of his harebrained heist scheme he plans to unleash on one of the Alpha's. It's a dangerous plan, one that could cause their collective demise if discovered but Mike is not to be thwarted and insists on her espionage, even when it is against the fabled Lycan King Renard Belmont, a man popularly dubbed the alpha of alphas. But Maeve forgets the scheme and begins to fall for Renard and it will be too late before she can pull back or give in. Can she deny his father's orders? or can she survive the sting of Renard's rage at uncovering her betrayal and be consumed by the Beast of Belmont.
