Joma was a spirit born in the village of Walla as a female child for a singular purpose to teach a man from Icheke how to heal his people. They had not had such a man before in their village. But when she grew up and was sent to Icheke to meet the man she would teach herbs and divination, they forgot their calling and fell in love. After many years, Joma and her husband, Dion could not have a child of their own, but when they did, Joma died shortly after his birth. Months after, Dion was drown in River Akum whose Spirit was the one that sent Joma into the world. He was drown when his Child, Beloni's pet dog sprang out of the boat to stop Beloni from coming further toward the river. It made the boat to capside. That was how a child became an orphan beside a dangerous river, beside a brook forest that was uncharted and had never been talked about in their village oral history. That was how Bobom, the dog became everything, including evil, to save a child who circumstance {or was it?} has been entrusted into her care. It was a meeting with the Spirit whose parents betrayed by choosing hasty marriage over their calling. Akum Forest, now housing them, was the very abode of Akum Brook Spirit.
