The series is set in a far-future reality where a precursor civilization, the Aethelians, Who achieved a state of technological and mathematical perfection, a technology so profound that it could literally rewrite the laws of the universe itself , technologie so advanced to appear as magic to the surviving human civilizations who can barely comprehend what they have inherited , of and they inherited the Mark.
