Dev never planned to end up in a vampire nightclub. He had simply followed a neon sign that read “Free Wi-Fi”—a bait no student could resist. The moment he entered, however, the atmosphere was wrong. The music was gloomy, the chandeliers dripped with candle wax, and every pair of glowing red eyes turned toward him. To the vampires, he was fresh prey. To Dev, they were just badly dressed cosplayers. He straightened his hoodie, proudly thinking he looked cooler than them. When the crowd hissed and bared their fangs, Dev’s survival instincts kicked in—though not in the usual way. Instead of running, he brandished the only “weapon” in his pocket: a math geometry compass. He waved it around like a vampire slayer, declaring his readiness to fight. The vampires paused, confused. They didn’t fear the compass, but the sight of a nervous teenager wielding it with the confidence of a knight was enough to stop them. Finally, one vampire muttered that human students weren’t worth biting anyway—their blood was too polluted with exam stress. Dev, completely unfazed, sat himself at a dusty table and asked the only question that mattered: “So… where’s the Wi-Fi password?” From that night forward, the vampire clan gave him a strange respect. He wasn’t a victim, nor a hero—he was remembered as the Wi-Fi Hunter of the Vampire World.
