Elara is an Echo-Dead, a woman hollowed by a vampire attack, unable to feel anything but the emotional echoes of the world. Kaelan is the last Mnemosyne, an ancient vampire who doesn't just drink blood—he consumes emotions and is haunted by the screaming symphony of every life he's ever tasted. To him, she is a silent haven. To her, he is the only one who doesn't overwhelm her. But their unique bond makes them a target for a cold, scientific enemy that sees her not as a person, but as a weapon to be acquired, and him as a specimen to be dissected. They must master the terrifying potential of her void and his emotional power to survive a ruthless pursuit that threatens to unravel the very nature of consciousness itself.
