At Saint Damaris Academy, an elite supernatural school where the children of powerful bloodlines are trained to master their inherited gifts, Rowan Vale is an outsider. A scholarship student with no known heritage, he enters the academy expecting to struggle with class prejudice and academic rivalries. But Rowan carries a secret: inside him is a Blood Echo — the fractured soul of Caelric the Crimson, a fallen vampire lord. This Echo manifests through haunting, battle-born songs known as the Crimson Choir, each “verse” unlocking supernatural power… but each use strengthens Caelric’s control. The more Rowan draws upon these verses, the more he risks losing his identity, becoming less human, and more like the Blood Mounark — a mythical king of blood who once ruled in shadow and is whispered to be waiting for resurrection.
