This is the story of Asmita, a young girl who fights for her own survival and rights. Amidst the conservative village culture, her parents, Prakash and Karuna, want to educate their daughter to prove that daughters are not "someone else's property." But when Asmita reaches an expensive city school, poverty, taunts, and the jealousy of her own family throw obstacles in her path. She pays for her dreams by teaching tuition, working hard in the market, and being inspired by her mother's sacrifice.
