The Forgotten Verse

The man’s hand trembled as he dipped the quill into the black ink. Outside, the sea screamed against the cliffs. Inside the lighthouse, the air felt thicker with each breath. He whispered: “I was wrong to write the names…” The candle flickered. The shadows bent unnaturally. He scratched one final line across the page: “Let her find it. Let her finish what I could not.” And then, silence. The quill slipped from his hand. The inkbottle cracked. And the ocean roared like it had claimed another soul.
